Can anyone recommend a good bank in TRNC where you can do internet banking and set up standing orders/direct debits so you can pay bills/view your statements/move money from the UK?

Thank you

Garanti bank definately offers internet banking but I don't know about setting up standing orders etc. If you are in TRNC at the moment, have a chat with Aylin upstairs in the branch - she's lovely and will be able to tell you all you need to know.

Hi,

You can do everything you want to through HSBC no matter where you are in the world online.

Pop in and see Julie Younger upstairs at the Girne branch she'll sort you out.

Hi ,

I too have used bank garanti in kyrenia- Aylin is very helpful and you can forwarn her before hand dates on when your coming over so she can expect you!

Its really easy and you can set up a sterling and YTL account and opt for internet banking which is great!

Once these are open you can transfer money from your UK bank to NC but your bank here will charge you a transfer fee normally around £20-25 per transfer!

You can also set up direct debits etc from the accountOnce you have opened and deposited money in both the STERLING & YTL accounts you can contact them and they will set up a current account for you- they send you the documents you sign them and fax it back to them and they will set it up for you!

CURRENT ACCOUNT is the one that earns you 15-17% interest which is paid into your bank acccount on a monthly basis!

The only penalty on this account is that if you withdraw money you will loose the interest gain for that month only and not for the whole year etc!

Also the current account is the one where you can get a cash card with if you wish- but you have to have a residential address in NC!

See ya D
