Lets all give them the custom they deserve---------------------none! Go to Shayna or Cornaro , far Superior with pleasant, friendly staff that deserve custom.

What a liberty as Catherine Tate's irascible Granny would say.... I agree with Bradus, it's crap beach anyway... and the facilities are very poor.

Not been to Diana, but use Shayna and Cornaro often as both have good facilities. Shayna is 7.5 TL and Cornaro 10 TL which includes a towel.

yes I agree, if we live here we are not a guest but a resident, same rights as a local, that is why we pay our fees each year, lets speak with our feet and go else where.

I've always found Diana Beach to be below average with comparatively poor facilities. They also expect you to pay just to walk or sit on the beach , even if you are not using their sunbeds, parasols, toilet facilities etc etc. If you try to point out that beaches are public spaces they turn a deaf ear. For them to want 10L is bad enough....but to instigate a two tier pricing system to penalise "visitors" is laughable. The business mentality in the TRNC never ceases to amaze me.

| Diana shows the atitude of times that have stood still, greed of mass proportion, facilities that have lacked investment and an atitude to the genral public that is well below what is expected. The best that could be done is for it to be sold to a visionary such as the owners of Shayna, who have turned facilities that were similar to Diana into a top venue, unfortunatly this will probably only happen when the greedy sod that owns Diana realises he's a failure or pops his clogs. | cronos I employed their tactics when I was asked for 10tl last year whilst sitting on the beach amongst the sail boats. I "turned a deaf ear" as you say, to their requests after I pointed out the fact that all beaches are free. After a couple of minutes he gave up and left me in peace..........and went to another british family who had just arrived to look at the beach for "a visit tomorrow", their words. They had no gear with them, said they'd only just arrived on the island and were still finding there way around when they saw his sign and called down to see the beach. One of their kids had ran to the beach ahead of them and sat on a sun bed and so he demanded payment which they foolishly agreed to then left, probably never to be seen again...........crazy people!!! |

It is so sad as there are lots of developments situated round this beach. I have no objection to paying for a days rental of their sunbeds and parasols, but the beach is not kept clean, the sunbeds are 100 years old and are filthy and the people manning the beach act more like night club bouncers dealing with drunks than providers of a service that you are paying for. You also have to wade through huge, slippy, boulders to get into the sea Yet if things improved they could entice more users to the beach and this would also increase their restaurant and bar trade. We would certainly have eaten and drank had we not been greeted with such an unfriendly, inappropriate greeting for just wanting to wander along the beach for 5 minutes before going for a drink.

Message 1 Your complaint about Diana should not be about being mistaken for a tourist,it should be about being ripped off. You shouldnt even mention not being a tourist or a guest If anyone offers me 'local' prices ,I tend to try and not use them
