I still cannot understand the need for any sort of back up now. We have been here 4.5 years and never had an issue with power cuts. Any we get now are no worse than anything you got in UK. 4 years ago there was a problem now the problem is people have to get rid of their gennies etc that they have left in stock. Why wast lots of money on an unnecessary system. I know what will come now form others. so will leave the floor clear. IMO, do not waste your money.

KIbsolar provide a variety of power solutions... but as David says, unless you are running from a generator and want the ability to run things when it's not on I can't see the need to spend the sort of money you are talking about... We get the odd power cut but it's nothing we can't handle.. Are you plagued with cuts?

www.kibsolar.com - for homes and industrial backup and renewable energy sollutions. A backup system in TRNC is never wrong. If you ask for a backup system you might have a reason to ask for it. Many customers bought one because of powercuts, insufficient power supply and voltage fluctuations. The energy infrastructure in TRNC is far away from beeing reliable. This also explains why all governmental offices have generators+backup systems. All banks etc which are dependent on electricity still have generators. Parts of TRNC face daily powercuts, a cental part in Lapta struggels with fluctuations from 150VAC to 290VAC on a daily basis. Ofcourse TRNC is improving but what will happen when they start to change all overland lines which are in desperate condition? What will happen when they service Teknecik (due time 5 years or more)? Remember, KibTek was for sale, 1USD, no one bought it! - To much infrastructure investion needed, to long return on investment... stay enlightened !

Thanks for the replies - Power cuts in St Hilarion village 27 times from Jan to April this year 2 were notified in Cyprus today!! Generator very noisy as we are on a 19 property new build site with high walls enclosing part of the site. With the temperatures already reaching well over 40 C the thought of no elect is not a good one (:- Will look at the link suggested thanks for all your inputs.

@ smithy: far cheaper? for how long? investment cost: yes - running a genny for longer periods: no! its all a matter of how long you have powercuts and how comfortable you want to live with them.. genny: you have a feelable powercut, you have the noise, the fumes, the pollution, the re filling... .. .. All backup systems which were sold till today by http://www.kibsolar.com are still in operation, maintenance free, no refilling, no feelable powercuts, nothing.. more living COMFORT. on the long run you even save money...

Berkal, Just two simple questions for you: 1. What type of output does your inverter give? i.e. is it square wave, modified square wave or sinusoidal wave. 2. What type of batterry do you use? i.e. is it car batterry or heavy duty industrial batterry. ismet

Silent Power on 0533 846 8010. Our system is now five years old and works very well, silently. Suported by four long life sealed batteries, the inverter takes over during a Kyrenia power cut and gives about 10 hours of power, dependant on usage. No noise, no gas fuel, no emmisions, no trouble. True, there are not as many power cuts these days, but we do have them and they are a nuisance, especially in winter when we need heat from the CH system for medical purposes (orthopedic). Hidden away in a stylish cupboard in the study, the Silent Power system is perfect for us and we have no hesitation in offering our recommendation. The top of the range model, which includes power surge protection cost c.3000TL, worth every penny, or Kurus! Happy New Year to all.

Dear Sir, The standard unit has 1200W rated output with modified sine wave waveform and a two stage 10Amp charger that comes in a lockable cabin on wheels. It automatically changes over to battery mode in blackouts / brownouts and bypasses the mains voltage when in limits. The batteries are maintenance free sealed type with life expectancy upto 5 years, however, deepcycle batteries can be used if the application is portable or / off-grid. Thank you.
