was wondering where it was coming from. Thought it was a neighbour over the road, was gonna give them a piece of my mind ;-) While on the subject of noise, what was all the beeping of car horns for this afternoon? (in Lapta)

I doubt it was Simena because it`s a fair way from Al Shaheen in Lapta. Nearer to that is Aeria Bar which I believe had a band there tonight, though I`m not saying it was them. Could it also have been Sunset Beach which is almost opposite Al Shaheen.

Lapta Mike. The horns were probably from an election procession. You will have peace again after Sunday!!!!

Hi natascia

I dont think it can be Simena as it is very "local" music and also it has now stopped.

I hope you do get some rest tonight!

you are probably right laptamike there may be no dj,it could just be some of the lyrics that leave a lot to be desired but yes still going on and very loud,I was hoping on a midnight cut off but it doesnt seem like it now.

The official times according to Ministry of Interior (for bars/restaurants which have a standard music licence) - are sunday-thursday finish 12:00 - friday & sat - 01:00

But there are limits to the sound levels - if in doubt call Lapta police.

Hi lulubell

The music was coming from Lapithos, I phoned the Lapta police at least 3 times and this is what they said, it was a party for people all over the world,( I would think they could hear it all over the world too) they could not stop it, as they had a music licence from the Kimakimlick (not sure of the spelling) and they were actually allowed to play until 3am, I said what happened to 12.00, they said they have permission, the police did say that alot of people complained and they would send someone down to ask them to turn it down. I then phoned Lapithos and asked them if they could turn it down, the person on the other end said he would tell his manager, but then the music seemed to get louder, I then phoned again and asked him again to tell his

a---hole manager to turn it down. On my third attempt the guy said they would be finishing at 1.30am, which they actually did, so then I went to bed.I would like to know, WHO gave them permission to play until, that time.

The music was very loud last night but as I've said before we live on a holiday island and tourists have come here to enjoy their holiday. Just remember that when their two weeks holiday is finished we are still here on our beautiful island, and we can see it in all it's glory throughout the year, a few sleepless nights is a small price to pay for that.

My God there are some miserable people on this forum! Just been reading the posts on this thread blimey! you should listen to yourselves! have you never let your hair down & had a party? It was a Friday night, most of you are retired & don't have to get up in the morning and if you did you could have put in some earplugs as was suggested, close the shutters (wasn't too hot last night) Probably the same people as were complaining on here & ringing the Lapta police are the ones that do most of the other compaining. Chill! stress less! & Live & let live!

Yes Ian it does! My shed is harming no one - it is still there, taped & sealed, waiting for such time as a rational, reasonable person is in charge - I'm not holding my breath but I'm not constantly whinging about it either!

Between the barking dogs, the mosque, the election rallies, the cocks that crow all day & now the cicadas Cyprus isn't a particularly quiet place (least not in the villages) so what's one more party!
