I am currently living in Larnaca but seriously thinking about relocating to Northern part. I have bought small secondhand car three months ago and I wonder whether I have to officially import it if I want to use it in North. I am working in Nicosia (Greek part) and if I decide to move to North I will be crossing the borders with this car every day. Anyone can help? Thanks

Chances are the import duties etc to register the car in the north will be so high it is better to sell and buy here. Try to use the car here on GC for an extended period will result in your car being picked up and deposited along with yourself at Metehan. I know there are several on forum who this has happened to so may be they will advise.

I brought a 10 year old car from the UK and used it for 1 year,I then had the choice of paying duty on it or taking off the Island,as the duty was way in excess of the car's value I took it back to the UK.I can't see any reason why you should not be able to do the same with a car from the Greek sid

I know the option sell and buy new in Turkish part is the best, but second hand cars are so expensive there!:-(
