We wish to buy a laptop for our Granddaughter in the hope that it will help her with her schooling and studies. Where is the best place to buy one here in TRNC and will it come with 'English Keyboard', fully loaded etc?

Com-Aks usually have some with English keyboards and they're reputable makes too (HP, Dell, IBM). It's certainly worth a look anyway. These usually have a range of legal software installed but it tends to be MS Works etc. rather than MS Office. I would guess about 10% to 15% more than the UK price - but I am no expert and haven't checked against current UK internet prices.

The problem with software here is that it is very difficult to buy legal stuff and very tempting not to when you can get Microsoft Office Professional loaded for US$20 (but you must remember to turn off automatic updates). However, Com-Aks are the certified Microsoft agent for TRNC and can sell you legal MS software if you want it.

Com-Aks are next to Mr. Pound on the right heading from the main roundabout towards Lapta.
