We have purchased a property which has a landline, but the telephone doesn't work. We are on a small complex where the telephone companys responsibility ends at their on site distribution box, this is all o/k. The fault lies betwee the distribution box and our property, does anyone out there know of anyone who could remedy this problem

Have been down that road that's how I know it's not their responsibility, thanks all the same.

Just tell them you want it done privately and are willing to pay. You'll have them fighting to follow you home and fix it there and then.
