The queue for the 10:30 Ercan-Antalya-Stansted flight was very long. I was promised a text if the plane left notably late and as I've heard nothing I assume it is on its way.

| As I have said on the other sites don't trust anybody with any info given. in my opinion trust is not something that sits well in Northern Cyprus. Get to the airport early and try your luck, if you have to buy new tickets do so and then sue CTA / ATLAS JET for the usual shambles that occurs in Northern Cyprus when something unexpected happens. | silcuty, do you actually remember what I wrote? I asked if you could confirm the RUMOUR or else retract it. If I said that you were definitely spreading a rumour then I'm an idiot! Won't be the first or last time As for getting back to you, the threads just disappear and at the moment I'm working a 12/7 working week on top of running a newspaper so I tend not to keep up with what is happening on Cyp44. |

The 10:30 Ercan-->Stansted (KK9953) is expected to land 15 minutes late. So to recap, the flights on Atlasjet's website are running but it's hit or miss whether you get on them. Even if you are at the front of the queue, I was told by a passenger on that flight, there is so much chaos groups of people are being allowed to push in front of you.

msg 9 Spot on. We were there this morning for that flight and you can guess where we are at present, and it is not on way to Stansted. Staff would not deal with Turkish people pushing in at front etc by telling them to get lost. Security man came and he just had a joke and walked away. We estimate between 50 and 60 people did not get on flight including people in wheechairs, those with very young children and all with nowhere to go or to stay. We know that staff are working without computers or flight manifests and it is difficult but to then be continaully harangued by these rude, arrogant Turkish people who thought they were better than the rest of us............ We knew flight was full when all the check in staff got up and walked away. Then a short announcement was made in Turkish, not even the courtesy of English given this was a Stansted flight. All the comments in the queue were the same - not coming here again!!!!!! What a brilliant advert for TRNC!!!!!!

Generally, do we know what is happening after July 11th... isitpossible that at that date things will settle and the origianl KTHY slots will be taken up including e.g. İzmir Very very worried and cant be the only person in İzmir on these regular flights |

I just rang and got thru to the Atlasjet helpline - I had flights booked Ercan-Bodrum-Ercan and also another flight Heathrow-Ercan. I was told as they are not Atlasjet regular routes we would not be given alternative flights and to ring CTA for the elusive refund - fat chance!

Probably not much really. As dates of flights come closer and the situation either changes or stays the same, people will not want to lose their holiday, and take the expense of finding other flights if they can.

Hi my names H alot of you may know me if you are between the age of 20-40 and have ever been clubbing in the summer in North over the last 10 years or so. I am an Events Organiser in north Cyprus, I do the club scene throughout August every summer and have been since 1999. I bring over artists and DJ's from the UK and Europe every year. I invest a lot of my time and money into the country every and I am getting really worried now. As I have an aunt who is an owner of one of a travel agent and the news that I am getting is that a lot of people are asking for refunds or trying to get there money back or I am hearing that prices are as high as £500 this is crazy. Basically I need to know a couple of things as I may have to CANCEL the whole summer. 1# By how much will the tourism be down by in North Cyprus 2# Can you now book flights with Atlas to Ercan 3# are prices going to stay around £4-500 4# Is this the start of the end in non Turkish tourism in the TRNC

I'm hoping that the TRNC Minister of Tourism might realise quite soon that supporting tourism is in their job description. Mind you I think they'll be on holiday soon.

Master H, It seems like a bit of a mess, and I think numbers will be down significantly. Many didnt book and went elsewhere this year as Pegasus put prices up, and they got wind that CTA was on last legs... I'm one of them.. Those that did book will probably try to get a refund, as they are now seeing that they are going to get messed about by AtlasJet, at best be treated like a second class citizen, at worst be turned away at the airport.. TRNC government have messed up big style! First Orams, now KTHY. What is left? Losers. M

Yes, I've been pro TRNC for many many years.... But in the last year, Orams, Auctions, KTHY, etc have knocked it... Can't tolerate them anymore. Regime change is required.

lol@croucho Thanks for that info but does anyone have any actual figures of the % of tourism down by last year??? I am probably one of the most patriotic Cypriots you will ever meet and as an events organiser in north Cyprus I want tourism up rather than down as I try my hardest to promote North Cyprus throughout the year over in the UK. I think I need to speak to the TRNC minister of tourism. Does anyone have any contact details for him??

I have a ticket for KTHY flight. Can you confirm that Atlasjet will be operating this flight? Currently Atlasjet cannot confirm that. You can check the new schedule through our website. I have a ticket purchased for KTHY flight. How can I reconfirm my ticket on Atlasjet flight and how can I rebook my seat for Atlasjet flight? Currently it is not possible to rebook your KHTY reservation at the Atlasjet system. You will be accepted to the flight in accordance with the rules mentioned in the article” Regulation for KTHY tickets” in the FAQ that is declared at the Atlasjet website. Can I use the same tickets which I purchased for KTHY? Yes, you can use a KTHY ticket on Atlasjet flights, unless your ticket was issued for a flight that operates before June 21th, 2010.

Can I use my KHTY ticket for Atlasjet flights, operated at a different date other than my ticket was issued for? Until futher notification you can use it. However, the date of your flight your ticket was issued for should be June 21st 2010 or after. I have a ticket purchased for KTHY flight. Will the flights remain within the same schedules, and the same flight numbers? Until further notification, new flights will be operated with a different Atlasjet flight number and time. For future flights please check the schedule through our web site. Can I reimburse my KTHY ticket from Atlasjet Airlines? Currently not. We will declare the regulations regarding the reimbursement of KTHY unused tickets in our further notifications.

it is rumoured that the date for Atlasjet "further notifications" is July 6th. I just love the way the government have washed their hands of the chaos that the failure of their national airline has brought. Absolutely nothing on their English language Public Information Office website at http://www.trncpio.org. We actually bought our flight tickets from the TRNC government. Makes you wonder if they'll do the same thing with the TRNC title deeds people buy here.
