Interest rates going up half a point mid July

Just been informed by my bank that interest rates on monthly deposit account will rise to 9.5% from 9% on July the 17th .This could account for why the weakening lira suddenly moved in the opposite direction .but if this rate rise is true I think we wil see the lira weaken further into the summer night even get back to 2.5 to the £

HSBC offered me 8% if I moved a load back to them,so maybe they are feeling the loss of custom as well ???

more property being auctioned, its ok for people with money on deposit,but look after the interest your earning you may need it to buy your property back off the bank lol

Yorgozlu I was not comparing rates just saying what the bank is doing which should mean all banks going up by .5% whatever rate your on with a TL dep account

My intention by my msg7 was to point out to you,"dont be fooled by what they offer you".First go to another bank and ask them what they'll give you then go back to your own and tell them the offer.See if they up it or not.

It is rather dangerous to transfer your money to another bank, just because they are offering higher percentage. Prefer the reputable but safe ones even if they have a lower percentage.

I am not looking for new bank I was simply pointing out ,that my bank said the interest rate will be going up in the middle of July I was not expecting a full blown debate on the issue of the best bank .But it looks like I was right about the £ getting stronger it's now trading at 2.3956 to the £
