We need a wooden pergola to be built on our terrace to give a shaded area (Karsiyaka).



Would be very grateful to know of a carpenter/builder that can be recommended by anyone who has had something similar done.

We have just had one put on the front terrace and are very impressed. We use Sydney Construction in Karakum who are absolutely brilliant and cant fault them. They have done loads of work for us and everything is 1st class workmanship.

If you want to SEE what you get, go to look at the quality of construction and materials and detail of finish at the sample pergola on 'Ronnies Furniture' forecourt.



If you like what you see, ask them for a quote.



I wonder why they're getting all the pergola business nowadays, even from Cypriots, as well?

'Ronnies Furniture'



Driving east to west - that is Girne to Karaolanoglu > Karsiyaka > Lapta, etc., after the 2nd fountain roundabout you'll see the military base on both left and right of you - you may get stopped by their traffic lights > drive on and 400 metres later you'll see the 'Ship Inn' [mock Tudor style] hotel on your left > drive on another 300 metres and you should see 'Ronnies' sign on your right. Keep a lookout for the big school on your left - 'Ronnies' is right opposite - you should easily see the large pergola on their forecourt with a sign hanging from it that they make them.

Try JJS LANSCAPES. British company built me a pergola, boundary wall, sorted irrigation and planted out the whole garden. Pretty reasonable and finished ahead of schedule.

Just had a great job done by Izzi @ Sparks, Karsiyaka, just after the square on the rhs heading towards Guzelyali beach. Pergola 3 metres square, also to provide shade and withstand strong winds. Had a quote from Ronnies and Izzi was cheaper and equal if not better quality. Had the canvas supplied and fitted by Burhans but Izzi does have his own contacts. Give Izzi a try, really helpful guy and if you're in Karsiyaka, he's local too! Good luck.

If the Izzy mentioned in Msg No 11 is the same one as we used he is a London Cyp very trustworthy and a good worker and sensible with prices he built a pergola for us and made an excellant job of it you can get him on 05428860140 and tell him Peter from Alsancak recommended him.

why don't you try the best carpenter Salih, who is based in Karisyaka, take the left fork at the coffee shop of the main road, drive down towards the sea, you will see it to the left hand side.
