I just booked from Larnaca.

Larna -- Dublin -- Larnaca. Cost £289 return.

No hassle, no worries, Just turn up on time and get your plane. Such a shame about the abysmal management of CTA.

Yes totally agree. Just booked for Jan 2011 Manchester to Larnaca £344 for 2 return. Also similar for September flight returning in October thats Manchester to Larnaca and back again at decent times. Shall we start a taxi share thread? I am sure that loads of peoople come over just 1 person as partner friends etc are coming later. Just a thought!

Have to agree, always tried to stick to Ercan to support the local economy. But Larnaca so much cheaper now. Pegasus started off with really good prices but are becoming expensive now. Shame!

To Paddywhack,

The only airline doing Dublin Larnaca at the moment is Eurocypria. You must book via a travel agent as far as I am aware.

Turkish Airlines does DUB-IST-ECN but the prices have gone up steeply since the beginning of the year. They say due due to new Turkish Government taxes.

Always been an Ercan man but looking at flights from Larnaca (I refuse to be gouged by Pegs or Atlas)

Are all the reasonably priced flights at horrible O'clock? I'm looking but only see flights in the dead of night.

Does anyone do decent priced flights during the day?

Just booked 2 x flights for end of September. Stansted-Ercan-Stansted - £550.00 for both of us, including all taxes, with Pegasus. Decent flight times.

Nowhere near as good as those we booked for last month - £80.00 each return!

If you want Eurocypria flights on line, go to Olympic Holidays and tick flight only. No probs sorry to say they are really good. Failing that go to Airflights Direct. Was with them when XL went burst, all be it getting back to Scotland was along way for a short cut but they got us home as they are ATOL protected flights.

Booked Larnaca Monarch last week during the sale (extra £10 off all flights) at a cost of £167 day flights Luton. Would have been £139 without bags. Add £45 for taxi (2 sharing) takes it to £212. PGS wanted over £300.

Simbas, Havent decided yet but would like a UK visit within the next 5 or 6 weeks. I normally book fairly close to my departure date as I'm a chronic procrastinator. What date is the Luton one and who's it with?

Thanks for the headsup btw

Not direct flight..

Monarch to Gatwick Ryanair to Dublin. The Ryanair flight was £10 but the extras brought it up to £85. Plenty of time to change aircraft at Gatwick.

Dont get it.

Everyone wants cheaper flights, and yet in previous threads, people go on about how its a good thing Easyjet doesnt fly to Ercan ,bringing all these cheapo common types to mix and disturb us.

Shumthing wrong shurely?

Of course people want the best value and anyway, to some degree its too late!

Plenty of posts with people complaining about beer costing a Lira too much in one karaoke bar or another or suggesting you drink in some dive rather than an upmarket one to save a nickel or a dime!!

Sooner or later with people keep using Larnaca the GC are going to get slightly upset regarding people using the South side to access the North and there could be consequences of this . So much for the support of the North.

That is a bit of a change of sentiment paddywack. The last time you asked for advice regarding travelling from Ireland to TRNC and I gave you information, you said and I quote ;

'Larnaca is out of the question, buy in the North, fly to the North'

Never say never! We have mainly flown Pegasus from Stanstead, but it is such a difficult airport to get to from here. I got quite excited when Pegasus were going to fly out of Manchester, but their prices were ridiculous compared with Manchester-Larnaca via Monarch. I booked Pegasus flights more than a year ago and have been coming backwards and forwards for £39.99. My last booked flight is October 20th Ercan-Stanstead. The prices have gone up so much that it will be Monarch out of Manchester in early November and back late December for Christmas. I never even look at Turkish as you cannot book online to Ercan and it really bugs me.

Msg 27,

You are right, in normal times I would not even consider Larnaca, but these are not normal times flightwise.

So much was promised with Atlasjet, but failed to materialise. If we want to continue to use our place in N.C. we will have to travel the best way we can until things get sorted.

Was talking to one of my Cypriot friends this morning, and she said that even Cypriots are now using Larnaca as so many problems as Ercan.
