I once read a book by Roald Dahl and absolutely loved it, but i can't remember what it was called. Basically it was a bout a man reading a book about a man reading a book, and there was some Indian in it with a big white turban. Does this ring a bell with anyone?? I know the description is sketchy to say the least, but if anyone could throw some light on this, i would be MOST grateful. DD

Don't know that one DD but try putting 'Roald Dahl titles' in to google search and you should be able to get a list of all his work - maybe if you see the title in there it will job your memory. Good luck Maggie

i've read most of his books as he went to my school in Repton. But i can't seem to remember anything about a man reading a book - could it be "Going Solo" perhaps ..

I think it was about, a guy picking up a book in a library, and then reading about a man picking up a book....there were some far east connotations and there was definitely a man with a white turban in it....and there was something connecting the 2 men....but it could also have been about several people reading the said book...i remember thinking that i was going to get confused as it was like looking into a lot of mirrors, except it was reading...i know this sounds confusing, and trust me when i say, i was reluctant to post this as folk might think i'm a bit batty....but i am desperate to find out the title, and perhaps acquire it. I'm not batty really!! DD

You're most welcome - I loved reading Roald's childrens books (to my children first , then when they were older, I used to read them after they had) Do you know I didn't even realise that he'd written so many adult books! I think a trip to the library is in order when I go back to UK next week! There a bit on that site where you can email them with questions - might be worth a try & save you a bit of time? Good luck with your quest! Maggie x

The first time I heard of him was when Rik Mayall narrated 'George's Marvellous Medicine' on Jackanory about 30 years ago - I was hooked!. Talking books would be fantastic!!
