Wireless Internet connection in TRNC

Me again!! Can anyone please suggest a wireless SP in the Lapta area or recommend one, I am using 3G and to date has not been very reliable,so looking at wireless connection. Over to you girls&guys out there who I know are more up to date than I am.(before you cry out guys us girls also know a thing or two,no smart comments please!!

Try Gwyn and Paul on 0533 869 4371 who represent Extend. Always found them very efficient and Extend very competitive.Something like 650 TL a year including installation.Worth a try.

wanderer, though I agree that H & N are brilliant, they are a litlle out of the way for Lapta, then again, if you happen to be driving to Catalkoy then why not.

I must admit, we have used Nethouse Networks and whilst they have their problems on occassions, we have been able to watch Wimbledon .. live... with very very few problems. We have used Sunnycyprus but cannot compare to Extend as these are the only ones we have not tried yet.



Conclusion ... Nethouse (at the mo)

Extend has a much more reliable conection than Nethouse. Although Nethouses custumer support is more friendly I admit!

I know they are east, they are also friends, hence my mentioning it might be a bit out of the way for Lapta.

I have seen a Nethouse advertised agent in I think, Alsancak. It was on the left as you head to Lapta.

I use Haypem located in Alsancak for wireless internet. 75TL per month for 1mb and set up cost was 300TL

I can recommend extend if you have a landline - we've had ADSL wireless with them since last November & no problems whatsover (I've probably tempted fate now!) Before that 3g dongle which was ok at times but very hit & miss!

Quite a few people I know have landlines! I had to make a few visits to the telephone exchange early on to persuade them to convert the line for ADSL but I assure you it can be done!!



The only time I've had a break in service is when we've had a power cut & obviously the modem goes off - 3g dongle is good for back up when this happens.



By the way I am in Baspinar - way up above Lapta!

I live in Bahceli n my SP is e-motion.With them I am quite happy. There office is in Karaoglanoglu which is close to Lapta I think. Call them to find out prices.



I think all internet providers are same. What matter is the service and after sales. and myself I am very happy with them. They response immediately, very efficient service. They look after their customers at least. Brilliant

If you're in Lapta area, why not try and get a landline/ADSL? Telephone lines are not that hard to get in most of Lapta area. When I ordered a second line I only waited about 10 days for installation. I have 4MB ADSL via Haypem, cost for the year 300TL plus 26TL a month to the telephone company. Cheaper and better than any wireless system. Worth asking at the phone office in Girne anyway.

If you do not have a phoneline and need wireless connection very good connection in Lapta pay 12mths connection get 4 mths FREE plus 99tl off your installation.

Phone office is not far from the big screen - near the fire station, and opposite the Post Office (Yellow Building )

Laconic Computers in Alsancak just past the first starling (when heading towards girne) are nethouse agents. We got ours there and get our 3 monthly topups there.

As long as everyone sticks to who they like best. Nethouse will quietly cruise along growing by self recognition, without sales people trying to convince anyone of "special offers". Nethouse does exactly what it says on the tin and more.

I am with you wings..I don't like sales people trying to convince with special offers..The reason I joined cyprus44 because I found it interesting. People helping each other..with their experiences..What to do what not to..etc..etc.
