| When I was answering an email this morning, the type suddenly stopped appearing on the screen. The only way i can type, is by holding each key down for at least 5 seconds. There is also a clicking noise when i press the keys down, my computer is a laptop. can anybody help please. the butlers wife |

| go to your control panel and find restore your computer to a earlier time. then take your computer back 1 day in time . it may sort out your problem if you have not picked up a virus. |

| If the above haven't worked you could try using the 'virtual keyboard'. You'll find it here: Start - All programs - Accessories - Accessibility - Virtual keyboard (or you may have to start it in Utility Manager) |

| Sorry, it's called 'On Screen keyboard' and once opened can be 'Always on top' by selecting in Settings. |

| sounds like it could be a sticky key problem. If you open the start menu(windows key) does a selection box keep wizzing around all the icons? |

| is your laptop keyboard dirty it may have food or crumbs dust etc under the keys get air duster and blast and or remove keyboard and clean |

| Hi all, Thanks for everyone who replied to my call for help, carried out a complete scan for viruses and then followed the advice on msg 4 and reversed to earlier time, this seems to have cured the problem.
