Ghana should have won tonight but were denied by a blatant hand ball which denied a goalscoring opportunity. Yes the player was sent off , but justice was not done because they missed the penalty. When are the football authorities going to wake up and follow cricket and rugby's examples . In rugby the referee can award a penalty try in similar circumstances surely this would have been the fairest outcome tonight . ! Well done Ghana for getting the furthest any African nation have ever got in the World Cup. But you woz robbed !!!

Maria .... they deserved it ....but like all African football teams , they lack the discipline needed to win through to a major competition . I wish that is all the England team needed !!!

It was a cracking match to watch, best of the competition so far. They were so unlucky, I was really rooting for them. The guy who missed the penalty showed enormous courage in taking the first spot-kick in the shoot-out, and scoring. Shame they lost on penalties, but they can hold their heads up.

Well that match was just so exciting, both teams did play so hard, it put our blinking squad to shame! The Ghana team were so fast and some of the footwork from both teams is how football should be played. Think the handball should have been allowed as a goal, this then would stop others who may try this to pull off a win, the young team of Ghana were just tooooooooo keen, they then over shot the penalty.... Im sad now they are out...

Certainly the best game to watch so far.Ghana were robbed, but they must be used to bigger goalposts than the other teams.Never saw so many shots above,to the side etc.Hand of God? not another surely?

Subsequently his manager believes it was not cheating but the offender sacrificed himself for his team. Even more deplorable was his reaction of jubilation when he saw on the big screen that the penalty kick was missed and that cheats do prosper. Not a hint of remorse or feeling for the cheated. Not sure about another "hand of God" goal but if the Lord does move in mysterious ways these pillocks who masquerade as sportsmen should suffer every possible misfortune and poor outcome in their next game.

Did not look like it was over the line but the referee would have had the support of many if he knowing it wasn't, gave a goal, to ensure that cheating does not reap rewards of such benefit. (I would like to think that he considered that but perhaps realised he might be lynched before he got home !)
