Apologies if this subject has already been covered but I cannot find a thread for it and if you can give me a link for it. Have been given a telephone number which doesn't even ring out and am due to fly 2 weeks of today's date and am wondering if the flights have been honoured with an alternative airline and if so, which and how do I get in touch. Many thanks

I think it's fair to say you'd be better off booking another flight and claiming a refund on your cancelled KTHY (CTA) flights. As long as you paid by Credit Card you should have no problem.

Otherwise you are in a game of push and shove to see if you can get on another flight and that's no way to start a holiday....

Daren Msg 1 - There have been a lot of threads one of the largest being http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/39286.asp you need to look at them all to get good advice (it is not simple) and for you it might not be the advice that Groucho has suggested.

Log onto atlas jet website go to FAQ and click kthy subject then go to extra flights, these show the flights that have been put on immediately, I think it may be on a standby basis but they say the bookings will be honoured. More info is also on the atlas website FAQ page.... Good luck.

I spoke to my c card company and as they are trying to put on flights we can't get a refund from the charge back scheme. :-(

I have tried ringing kthy & atlas with no answer...

I email them & got a reply stating that if I turn up for the flight & there are spare seats we can fly... this sounds very vague IF there are seats isn't good enough...

I paid via visa debit & vise inform me I can have a refund... I can book with atlas on the website for around the same price

whats your thoughts guys, I tried a couple of airlines who couldn't do our dates so my question is if I cancel & book atlas will the still be here in a couple of weeks when we are booked to go?

What do you guys think ?

I have a CTA flight to Dalaman booked in early October, returning in later October,as Atlasjet don't fly there at all from this end,I guess I will re-book to Antalya and get an "all expenses" paid limo ride back to Dalaman ????

Yes, free overnight stay in a 5* all inclusive hotel in Antalya, then you will continue on your journey in your all expenses paid luxury limo to Dalaman.

If you originally booked to fly out of Birmingham, Gatwick or Heathrow, you also get the limo to take you to Stansted instead on this end.

9 + 10 the humour is painful - you both know how many people look at these threads and will now believe what you have said - most sorry bad joke.

In the current situation, there are only two options. Laugh or Cry. Take your pick.

Sorry: having heard some of the stories that are untrue (from people have called me at IAH) I agree with Msg 11. There are some people who will believe nearly anything.

Mus Msg 12 - Laugh, Laugh, Laugh, life is far too short and unreliable to do anything else.

Definately take the laugh option, life is too short... Especially this whole CTA / Atlas thing, this years flights will be water under the bridge, long forgotten in a few years time..

As I've been saying, better things are sure to come. Already the announcement of new flights from STN to Ercan from THY / AnadoluJet. See: http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/40120.asp

Probably little comfort today for people trying to rebook etc, but on the grand scale must just deal with it and move on. If you can laugh it off, all the better.

I'm was laughing while I read the above comments and know that the biggest laugh will be on Atlasjet when people decide they can't trust the new Atlasjet/CTA company and use Larnaca instead or in many cases they'll just never return. I just hope the government has the same sense of humour if that happens. I've had travel companies go bust on me before but never like this! Just bring your children to the airport and hope? Barclaycard at first told me I had to do that because Atlasjet said they had laid on flights for CTA ticket holders. After my wife was pushed out of her position in the queue at Ercan, and staff ignored her complaints, I decided that was not an option.

malsancak, there are a few more options than not returning, or going via Larnaca that many may consider:

Previously, we only had the Pegasus alternative to Ercan.. Now it's looking like we will have a second option, AnadoluJet, THY's lower cost brand...

Obviously, the way CTA customers have been treated by Atlas is not a good start to their reputation, and it did cross my mind to boycott them too. However, it's good they are an option, the more competition the better the prices? We don't have to use them, but others might!

Friday 16 July 2010 told by a neighbour that she had heard a BBC early morning radio news programme that Cyprus Turkish Airlines had gone out of business. I have trawled the internet every whichway and can find absolutely nothing anywhere to substantiate this. I am concerned, not just because I am booked to fly backwards and forwards a number of times in the coming months via CTA, but if this story is not true, someone somewhere is yet again endeavouring to harm the North Cypriot reputation and economy.

Hazel Msg 17 -

The airline and their tour operator section have not gone into administration.

Since late June they are not flying for about ten weeks.

AtlasJet have taken some of their routes and through an agreement with the North Cyprus Gov are replacing some tickets where possible.

Pegasus have laid on a number of extra flights which you can book through companies like ours.

There is more information on the thread - flights 2010 and 2011

Having recently been to the Atlasjet Office in Girne and had excellent service, where tickets for both directions were issued, my view has changed a bit. However, this is not the same as actually being flown on time and with good service so I'll reserve judgement for a few weeks. The flight over using Easyjet was the best I've had for a long time, having used CTA for several years. My flights in the future will be selected purely on convenience and price.
