Read lots about border crossing, a bit confusing, I've organised transfers, our car hire bloke is going to pick us up. I understand you don't have to have a ten pound note for a visa like Turkey but not sure what you're allowed to take and how much from North/South and vice versa. Not really intending to take much North only usual luggage and small personal things e.g. phone, mp3, camcorder etc, don't smoke so no ciggies and probably only one bottle of duty free. Is there no problem going through or do they search your bags? Heard so many different stories don't know what to believe. Just appreciate any info as I don't want to step on anyone's toes. Thanks

Andy Have never had luggage searched going south to north, most times I don't even get out of the car and my freind takes my passport and gets the paper visa for me. There is a limit on shopping brought from south to North across the Green line. Its 135 Euros and there are prohibitions on certain food items but none of these look likely to be relevant in your case (or cases!!) Paul

Yes, we made the same experience several times : South to North is no problem. But anyway: you can't rely on anything on cyprus. Regards, Rene
