Beware Atakara car rental scam

I rented a 1.4 Volkswagon Polo from Atakara as we had sold our car. The guy in the office told me that I had to pay for the half tank of petrol that was in it (obviously left over by the previous rentors), that's annoying in itself but he also tried to convince me that the car took 120 lira of petrol to fill and that I should give him 50 lira (it hold 60 lira max). I stupidly gave him 25 lira and he demanded that I pay the rest when I returned the car. Needless to say I did not.

Please avoid them, there are honest car rental companies that deserve the business.

OK, so 120 may be a tad more, but 110 is fair.

At 2tl per litre, a full tank at 45 litres is 90tl.



So 50tl is close enough to half!!!



So mkaas you have not been done or whatever and should apologise for besmirching the good name of the hire company.

what about the cost of there staff going to a petrol station to fill up, that cost money, and anyway every hire co: in the wourld would charge you 25/30% for not refueling { believe me i know i've worked with most of the biggest co:} as a senior manager.

mkaas, by your own statements in message 1, it holds 60 lira max and in message 4 it has a 45 litre tank.

Where exactly are you buting Petrol that you can get 45 litres for 60 Lira. That would be a rate of 1.33TL/Litre.



Even when I bulk buy fuel at 500 Litres at a time I can't get less than 1.85 and thats for diesel.



As stated above by several people who have worked it out as simply, you really should apologise or at the very least ask the admin staff to remove your post if possible.



You paid 25 TL which is about 1/4 of a tank so you should be happy at the deal you got, not trying to besmirch yet another company that is sprobably struggling at the moment.
