Flights to ERCAN. Some good news!!

Some good news regarding flights to Ercan for a change!



Turkish Airlines yesterday opened a new sales office in the TRNC, and announced they are starting a more frequent flight schedule to Ercan. Amongst the news was the announcement of new flights from London Stansted to Ercan as from the 2nd August under their Anadolu Jet brand, timings as follows:



13:45 02.AĞUSTOS 19:25 02.AĞUSTOS LONDRA (STN) İSTANBUL (SAW) TK7371 Anadolu Jet

20:25 02.AĞUSTOS 22:05 02.AĞUSTOS İSTANBUL (SAW) LEFKOŞA (ECN) TK7382 Anadolu Jet



Good news at last. As I have mentioned on numerous other posts, hopefully the end of CTA is the start of a new era in flights to Ercan from companies able to offer a higher quality service at more competitive prices!

Note the AnadoluJet flights departing 13:45 from Stansted to Ercan via Istanbul SAW is operating every day of the week!



Together with the Pegasus flights that we already have, two decent companies hopefully competing on service and price! Just what we all needed.

The flight from Ercan to Stansted is also at a reasonable time, unlike some CTA flights that departed at 5am in the morning... Take off from Ercan is at 08:25:

Good news on the flights £200 return STN ERC Sept/Oct looking at the flight details it says plane change at SAW leaving an hour on one and 50 minutes on the other tight times

Hopefully they may move north to take up some of the CTA slack

Although it states "change of plane", I doubt this is actually the case. I think is states that due to the way the computer system displays two consecutive flights.



It does not make business sense to force people to change plane, people who dont want to do this will book with another company (Pega) that just stop over without change of plane.

Lots of direct flights available to and from Larnaca, as little as £115 return Sept/Oct period according to http://www.skyscanner.com.

Excellent prices to fly into Ercan. Never know if succesful they may be able to drive down the prices by offering genuine competition to Pegasus.

Are these flights on the Turkish Airlines website or do Anadolu have their own? Also, is it possible to buy tickets online from NC as you cannot at the moment on TA.

Just checked Anadolujet Stanstead --Ercan return 22 Sept,--13 Oct for 2 people--£1075.00.Not what Iwould call a good deal.

Just checked £408 for 2 people, both TA and Anadolu Jet are the same price.

Anadolu have the same flight timings as TA.



Flew with TA in May, you do have to get off the plane but it is no hassle.

Turkish Ailines you have to get off plane.



Reading flight times at Sabiha Gokcen there is no way you can get off one plane and onto another in less than an hour.



As the original poster states, the web site probably does not have the facility, yet, for touch down flights".



This for me will see the end of any reemergence of KTHY under any guise. They will not be able to compete and THY will hopefully help make the market forces work with Pegasus too. Fingers crossed.

If you had to change planes at SAW you would have to pass through Turkish Immigration and pay your £10 visa, so another reason why I think it will be same as Pegasus. ie sit on tarmac for 1 hour.

never paid £10 visa, only took hand luggage with and walked to another gate, smaller plane to Ercan. All done in 1 hour.

If you can change directly to another aircraft, I understand from travle agent, there is no issue.



However if there is a delay or you have to change to another airline, there is no transit facility and you must pass through immigration.

and N. Ireland? Cheap flights only if you live in the S.E. We have to pay more and wait around for
