Sitting in the Old Harbour 15 mins ago, Tv was stuffed in my face and reporter asking me if I know about JLO coming to NC, I said well she isn't any more is she, they asked how I knew this, I said from the interenet. They asked did I know the reason was because she doesn't want to come because Turkey occupies NC. At this point I told them them my husband is a TC, and that I didn't want to talk about politics or be interviewed, so they left. I was really angry, as they were interviewing tourists in the harbour, I called the police but I think they realised I would and left. Police arrived in 5 mins but just missed them. They were from Sigma TV and they hadn't even bothered to cover up the logo. If anyone else has experinced this please contact the police. We do not need them coming over here and spreading their lies to the few tourist we have.

kiwikid i cant belive what you did you cant call the police, "if" we live in a free world and if the press/media want to report a story that's their choice ultimatly its the public who judge the story, you cant shut the press up when you dont like the storyline Had you been succesful with the police well j lo would have been right in not coming after all the UK frown upon the likes of mugabe-iran-North Korea when they dont let the BBC film and report you would not have been any better. Let the press in let them report what they want, let them expose the corruption or do you want to ignore the corruption which goes on lets be like North korea that show films of smiling people that are "happy" and devoted to their leader and country when we all know its not the truth regards sylv

Sylv I have no problem with reporters, but They were not interviewing, they were pushing their pollitiacal veiws to people who were not asking ie Tourist. which change them from reporting to Propargandda If our reporters went to the south and started asking questions about what happened to the TC before 74, I can garrentee the police would be called. Oh I forgot, that won;t happen as our reporter aren't allow to report on the south.

Hi Sylv. I see you are a fairly new poster, from which side of the divide? Yes we live in a free world, how about telling the GC's that, and try getting a TC camera and press even into Ledra Street and see how far they get. Wake up! Patientia est a donum superum

Ice man, have friends who work for tv stations here, they always have problems crossing over, even when going in the green line for un controlled interviews. In the past reporter from turkey have also had problems.

iceman im from manchester and have a holiday home in alsancak i have no intrest in politics but have an intense passion for fairness so lets not go down that route Kiwi kid again that can put what views they want the public will decide its like the BNP here let them say what they want the people decide and the more exposure they got in the last election they infact lost more seats than ever i dont know about the turkish film crews but the greeks certainly cant stop reporters in the south no way its EU sylv

Reporters of Turkish origin may have problems but not the Turkish Cypriots... If you watch the local TC TV stations you will see TC reporters regularly go over to the south to make programmes.

you should have played it cool and said you were a tourist from the UK, and give it to them straight, no matter what they tried to tell you I wish i had the opportunity to have, been interviewed they would not have broadcast it..i have always tried to be impartial regarding the politics between the north and south..There are always 2 sides to the story maybe sometimes 3 sides. but it always seems to be the version of the south that the rest of the world has heard of the past decades. I just want recognition for the north so that the can get on with things and start a better place for the future.

Kinda agree with the freedom of speech bit, but it's all one way in Cyprus. The south are dedicated to shutting up and cutting off the North from the rest of the world so where's the fairness in that then?
