Our daughter and family booked return flights from Stansted to Ercan with CTA. Flight was due to depart Stansted on 27th July and returning on 10th August. They have tried to re-book with Atlas Jet through one of their UK agents but all flights are full until the end of September.

I understand that no allocation was made on these flights for CTA passengers.

So they can use the tickets at any available time before the end of the year but not for the month they want to (school holidays).

It would appear they will lose all their money (booked online with a debit card). 1800GBP

Well done to the TRNC goverment and Atlas Jet. The promises made obviously cannot be met - so whats new!!!!

If they paid using a Visa Debit card then they should contact their bank, there is some protection.

Search "Visa Debit Chargeback" on google, or check: http://whatconsumer.co.uk/forum/consumer-news/759-debit-card-refunds-your-rights.html

Seasider, can you tell me which of the Atlas Jet agents told your daughter that there were no flights available? I can't even get that much out of them, they tell me they won't even get round to looking at my dates (30th July) until 'next week probably'.

Thanks, Nick1, It was Direct Traveller and Cyprus Paradise who both told me they can't look for me until next week.

Finally got return flights from Manchester in August with:

ADRES: 146 KINGSLAND HIGH STREET, LONDON E8 2NS

It was Asia Exp that could not find return flights until end of September.

Thanks for all your comments

I emailed tickets last Tuesday to Firts Club Holiday and have tried to contact all week eventually got them this evening they said sorry but I was not on todays list and took my phone number. I got fed up trying to contact them last week and registered ticket details with Direct Traveller on Saturday. I spoke to them today and they said phone back in a couple of days. We are supposed to fly from Manchetser on July 17th, Don't hold out much hope now.

Scotty555 - I think the problem is that every single ticket is having to be confirmed as valid by Atlas before the agency can offer dates.....I took mine to First Club on Wednesday but it all seems to be very hit and miss......not sure what we're going to do but am slowly resigned to the fact that we might not be going and am gearing up to try and reclaim it from credit card

Had tickets with CTA Stansted to ercan 31/7 to 16/8 and 6/8 to 16/8. Took CTA tickets into Atlasjet on Monday 5/7 and returned on 7/7 to collect new tickets with Atlasjet. I had booked online and had spent 3 weeks trying to contact ANYBODY!!..........Just hope these new tickets work.

Went to the Atlas Jet offices yesterday and received our ticket conformation for flights which had been booked with CTA.

Young ladies there could not have been more helpful and we were in and out within 40 minutes.

We had tickets booked online in the UK to fly from Stn to Antayla. We faxed the etickets to a friend who took them to the Atlasjet office in Ankara on tuesday 6th and were asked to leave them with them until Friday 9th. when they went back they were told as we had bought them in England we had to change them in England .. and of course by then we could not get flights for the dates or any nearby. credit card company here we come

Just looked at flights from Manchester and from Stansted for September. 115 euros one way plus taxes.

Not booking yet but no info regarding delays in getting tickets. Is the delay mainly in transferring CTA tickets to Atlas Jet?

Seasider unrelated to the thread but are u in TRNC for the Wigan and Arsenal games?

Assuming you are a Pool fan with a username like that and you are would you be interested in a get together with other Pool fans to watch our opening fixtures?

Blackpool fan is out as am I and i'm sure there are others

Let me know

Once a get a feel as to whether there is an interest in organising anything we can find a bar who can guarantee showing both the games live

We went to the AtlasJet office in Girne. We had two e-tickets booked with CTA online. Our flights are in September. We had them changed, for the same dates but better times, within 5 mins of walking through the door. No extra charge and a smile too boot. Well done Aiysha of AtlasJet .. you are a star!

For once we are blowing our own trumpet.

At IAH Ltd (www.flightholiday.co.uk ) we have tried to help quite a few people who are not our own customers during this CTA problem.

We have tried to help on Cyprus 44 (seemingly according to some we do not know our own business; so I am not so inclined to try to help others as hard as I usually do with the KTHY problem – sorry goodwill can wear out).

We are also members of ASTTO and have been trying to work with our associates & competitors. Many of whom have a greater worry & load. Many TO’s will not finish sorting out this problem for weeks to come.

Of course we had our own clients both ATOL bonded and supplied as a ticket provider who had problems and who needed our help.

Tonight as well as our normal business we have finally got our last client positioned with ATLAS and as happy as they can be!!! So just this once IAH will blow our own horn & now I can try to work normal hours & days rather than just about the lot.

Good luck - Tom
