I've done a search, but can't seem to find anything helpful, as it seems to digress to PTP and other things. I thought I paid it automatically on my water bill, but a friend has just told me that they had to go to the Belediye to pay, before they can receive their PTP. Like me, they had thought they paid it with the water bill, but initially you have to go in and request to pay it . I believe there is going to be a discount on it soon, does anyone know when?

HI, an amendment to above, once you have your PTP, you have to have your receipt showing you have paid and are up to date with your Property Tax before getting your Kocan. Sorry about that. So many different things, I can't keep up. !!!!!

Depending on your council for eg Lapta add it to your water bill but otheres you will need to go into the new Goverment buildings in Girne. (the one near the DİSTRİCT OFFİCE) you normally pay this either yearly in April or via 2 payments one in April and the othere in October.

Your Property Tax is like your Council Tax. It is levied annually and paid to your local authority. Some, like Lapta, add it to your water bill for notification but they will not deduct it from any prepaid money - it must be paid separately. You have the option to pay in 2 instalments - the second is September I think but I always pay it in one go. In Lapta (maybe everywhere) it is 1tl per square metre covered area or 1.5tl if you have a private pool. Regardless of any Kochan, PTP etc. it is wise to pay on time to avoid the interest which is added monthly.

If your property is in the Girne area (which includes Ozankoy) you have to go & register at the office near the Wednesday market. You have to take your contract, copy of Kocani, passport copy & complete a form the guy in there is very helpful and will finish the form off for you. Once this has been done you then should get an annual bill usually March/April time but if you don't get a bill you can take last year's & just go & pay in the normal Belediye office. As previously said you will have to produce a current receipt before transfer into your name can take place.
