We just bought some from the garden centre whose entrance [sometimes closed with a chain] is immediately after 'Star' newspaper offices on their boundary.

OK - directions: Girne to Karaolanoglu road > Ship Inn > see big Marshalls sign on the right - opposite are 'Star' offices/buildings.

We bought ours from the Lefkosia Nursery near the Stadium. Very cheap. I could not find it on the internet either. It's just a hedge which at the moment is producing red berries which do not flower. Some small white flowers came around April time. It grows very quickly.

msg 1,

Do you mean Myoporum? : - http://www.plantright.org/plants/invasive.php?invPlantID=25®ion=none

I think that they are quite cheap, but difficult to control, by all accounts

We have Myoporum. It grows like a weed and needs quite heavy pruning 2-3 times a year to keep it under control. It's a great hedge though.

Locally referred to as “Chit” I think.

Once it gets a hold it grows like mad.

Needs regular cutting but is very drought tolerant.

Hi Shippo,

You can take cuttings off this plant very easy, just find someone who is cutting their hedge and you just put them in the ground and they will grow, as long as you give them a drink.
