If you do a stint in the French Foreign Legion, thay will give you a similar hat for free.

A standard baseball cap and a handkerchief will do the trick. I have seen a few tourists using this method so it must work. Just try to get a handkerchief that matches the hat otherwise the natives will definitely know you are a tourist.
