Until a couple of days ago I used Nethouse Networks' SMTP server (mail.nethousenetworks.com ) to send email. Suddenly this SMTP server refuses to accept my outgoing mail. Does anyone out there experiences the same problem? Does anyone out there uses a different SMTP server (owned by Nethouse Networks)? Thanks for replies!

Addition: of course I called technical assistance in Nicosia and of course I was told the problem was somewhere else (in Holland or on my computer or...).

Is there really no Nethouse Networks subscriber on line who can tell me the name of the SMTP server (Outgoing mail)?! And whether this SMTP server asks for authentication (password or..?)?

Thank you Begonia and HappyDayz, but I only need to know the following: Is there really no Nethouse Networks subscriber on line who can tell me the name of the SMTP server (Outgoing mail)?! And whether this SMTP server asks for authentication (password or..?)?

Thank you, Teresa! But there is an important difference between webmail (which you use) and computer based email programs like Outlook Express (most popular on PC's) and Mail (most popular on Macs). I'm looking for some Nethouse Networks user with Outlook Express or Mail. In the preferences of these programs one can find a mail server for incoming mail and a SMTP server for outgoing mail. Something like "SMTP server: mail.nethousenetworks.com", which used to work for me, but doesn't anymore. So I wonder if I still have the right name for the SMTP server - someone out there can check and let me know...! But who..?

Hans. You know I'm computer illiterate so how can I find out if I'm using the nethouse network?

hi I used to be with Nethouse, and quite often my outgoing mail had problems with outlook express. i used to ring the office and ask the girl to email me the instructions as to how to set up outlook express emails. I did have all that on my computer but because i had, had enough of them I went to another provider. I was with nethouse when they first started, and moved three times no problem with taking arial etc the last time they wanted me to go to their office in girne from karsiyaka and pay 70tl to get arial moved. So because of that i moved. I am with Heypen Lapta and very glad i moved as well. Hope this helps

Thanks, kimig! At the moment I (have to) use a similar SMTP server (gmail), but I'm still looking for the name of the Nethouse Networks SMTP server! I feel we are near the right post...

I can't answer your question, but let me check that I understand it by using my own situation as an example. I'm with Extend, but my email is ian@whatson-northcyprus.com, and my email server is mail.whatson-northcyprus.com However when I visit my family in the UK, they are with Orange, who insist that you use their server, so I have to change the settings to mail.orangehome.co.uk . My email address remains the same. So if I understand you correctly, you're looking for somebody who is with Nethouse and sends emails from a domain that's not google or yahoo to have a look at their setings in Outlook to see what the smtp is, and to see if the authentication box is ticked or unticked. I was with nethouse a couple of years ago, and at that time I could use my own domain server. If I have misunderstood your question, I apologise, and everybody ignore this post.

Hi Hans - we had a similar problem when ours wouldn't accept our password any longer. We were told to change our setting to mail.nethouse.net and our password to their phone number (4440555) which seems a bit crazy because if everyone does that then it isn't a password!!! However it worked and not had any further problem. Hope this helps if you give it a try. Larry

Hi I use Nethouse, I'm not a 'tecky' I have never managed to use IE / Outlook Express etc. properly or the built in computer programmes with any TRNC server ie a dongle or Nethouse. The only thing that works for me is G Mail

Thank you, Larry! You helped me find the final solution! But: mail.nethouse.net doesn't work for me. After some experimenting this works: SMTP server: mail.nethousenetworks.net . And (now you've got to smile, because you understand) NO authentication (NO user name or password needed)! What a joke! Thanks again!

Coffeeman, can you enlighten me? The Nethouse SMTP server is accessed via mail.nethouse.net and requires authentication. Is your " smtpauth.nethousenetworks.com " access to another SMTP server (with authentication?)? If so, what is the advantage?
