Try Rafters in Ozankoy It does Indian and European cuisine but whenever I've opted for steak it's been cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere, fantastic service, reasonable prices.

Ambience does a great steak but one of the best I have had was actually in Jashans Indian... Pepper Steak was fantastic! Also the Fillet Steak in The Stonegrill is very good too, cook it yourself or they will cook it for you.

Two in a group last night at Blue Door in Alsancak opted for rib eye steak and both said the biggest and tastiest rib eye they have ever had. Other steaks on menu. Various sauces are optional and chips are excellent. Choice of salads and/or fresh vegetables. Venue enchanting at sunset and prices very reasonable. King Prawns great too!

Erols every time, steak cooked to perfection! Of course that is if you like your steak cooked in a particular way, in my case medium rare......I guess any restaurant can cremate it...lol

The new Brazilian restaurant next to the ambience does a mean steak and a lovely sauce to match. Best value fillet steak I have found with a sauce is the ravine bar in alsancak at around 24tl and really tender.

Erols is fab but if you want something closer to home and much much cheaper than Ambiance (and bigger steaks), then why not try Green Palace in Karsiyaka. I had fillet steak there this week with homemade chips, rice and salad for 25TL. Their T-bone is also fab and a steal at 22TL.

Dan, Erol's is in Ozankoy village. Turn left off the main Catalkoy - Girne road opposite China Bazaar. Go straight up into the village and turn left at the bookshop junction. At the Five Fingers restaurant turn right and as you get to the top of the hill you'll see Erol's in front of you. I'd certainly book; the number in the Buzz Book is 0392 815 9136.

well now you have all missed our wonderful angus steaks to die for, the only stipulation is that they are booked in advance. we have the most amazing butcher here who lets guido select the mead, clean and hang, this time of year its almost impossible for him to meet his demand. We have had to source another supplier and i have to say im not a big neat eater but i need one once a moth, thisis the best i have tasted anywhere x

I've noticed that the 'Fast Food Butchers' in Alsancak have put up a sign saying sirloin on order only. I wonder if it's because of the recomendation I gave on this board?

It's about time St Trpez got a plug as it has got to be one of the best ever places to eat in NC, not a lot of people can of afford it i suppose, thats why it doesn't get a mention like the run of the mill places. I must say they certainly do a magnificent crape !!!

Hi Amanda - We are UK based but have a villa in Tatlisu - when we were over in May/June we did, in fact, pop along for a drink on the way home from Girne - we couldn't believe it!! SB was in the process of being transformed and we were shown around SB by a young guy - I think it now must look absolutely fabulous and can't wait to re-visit when we are next over in September. Good luck and best wishes - Jackie

Silver Rocks also do a mean steak, and you couldn't get a better setting. Sitting at the water's edge listening to the waves lapping. The rocks are illuminated in the evening too. Another little bit of paradise.

For me it has to be: Niazi (t-bone) followed by Pastamania (fillet), and then the Green palace (t-bone). İ have been told Niazi Group get the pick of the Beef in the Girne Area when it comes from Mainland Turkey, but have no proof of that other than İ have never had a bad steak there in many visits. Beef can be very hit n miss here so if in doubt i would try one of the above.
