Clayton, I do not know what the ruling is but have flown via Larnaca lots of times, with light fittings, pictures, dinner service, cushions, bedding and loads of ornaments and never once have I had a problem. They tend to inspect on the way out, rather than inward journeys.

It is illegal to import furniture etc to TRNC without an import licence. So OK at Larnaca but at Metehan a different scenario. However if packed in luggage then there should be no reason to be queried. Obviously there is always a small chance of luggage being searched and is that a chance you are prepared to gamble on.

I brought about 10 over via larnace a couple of years ago and nothing happenned. The Turks and Greeks have never checked my bags or suitcases. You only need to be afraid when bringing commercial quantities!

My other half has brought light fittings through and has just bought some more to bring in September and he has never had a problem. I would mke sure that they are packaged up properly and if you are worried then put them through the "FRAGILE" luggage and they should be fine.

In May we brought two sides of a bed through Larnaca and the border, these were something we had forgotten to put on the container and are 5 foot long! Didn't get stopped. Vicki

Clayton as long as what you bring through, does not look new, you should not have a problem , Always air on the side of caution and you won't go wrong. Hope this helps !!
