| They only decide on the day. Today's notice was unusuall, in that I had it on Saturday. I expect they were able to decide as they never do it on a Sunday. There have been so many nests this year, that it's a safe bet that there will be a nest excavation and turtle release most days. They have promised to text me when they know for sure one is happening so I can put it on the BBs and on my web site (www.whatson-northcyprus.com ) However I don't always get told, and if I happen to be out for the day, I won't be able to post the information, so if you're in the area, it's probably worth popping in to ask. | attended today's hatching - absolutely brilliant - never experienced anything like it before - looking at these tiny little creatures wriggling out of the sand - adopted a turtle - come on everyone - dig deep into your pockets - all these wonderful people are volunteers - and turtles are such sensible creatures - the males stay in the sea and the females go back to the sea once they have laid their eggs - little turtles sink or swim but thanks to the people at the Goatshed on Turtle Beach they mostly swim- and watching them is wonderful. |

| Ian is the goatshed where the restaurant is on the beach or is the red brick building up the road a little? |

| No. the goat shed is on the other road to the beach. From Kyrenia, take the road to Esentepe. Just after the power station, the road swings to the right and into a valley. As it goes down hill, you'll see the turning on your left. It's marked to the turtle project. Take that road towards the beach. where it forks, with a restaurant on the fork, keep to the right. After the tarmac runs out, you have to do a U to the left onto a dirt track. You'll see the goat shed on your right. You can't miss it. Its got a six foot tall painting of a turtle on it! If you're coming from the Esentepe direction, you took the turning too soon. Keep going towards Kyrenia for another mile or so. The road drops down into a valley, and as it climbs out you'll see the turning to your right. If you get to the power station, you've gone too far. If you're passing during the day, it could be worth asking where the nest for that night is located, as it could well be closer to the cafe car park, and you could park there and join the group as they walk across the sand. (Although it would be a shame to miss looking at the video and buying goodies from their stok of "turtle" gifts). Don't assume, though, as the nest it could easily be in the opposite direction. Ian |

| Thank you - I think I know where you mean. When I was there in June I saw the sign for the Turtle Project so hopefully will be able to find it. Thanks for all your help. |
