Hi all, my son attended the British Dragon Soccer Academy held last week at the British Academy of Northern Cyprus (formerly Sunny Lane School). It is run by ex-Arsenal Summer School Coach Rob Shields and it was excellent. The camp involves quizes, fun games, football games and a huge water fight at the end. All the children enjoyed themselves and learnt new skills as well as having lots of fun. Rob keeps them motivated and well disciplined. Rob would like to run another camp at the same venue in a few weeks time if any of you are interested in your children attending please email him on soccercoachshields@gmail.com. The course runs from 9am-3pm, Monday to Friday and costs 100 Turkish Lira (fantastic value too!) and you have to provide a packed lunch for your child. BTW I have no involvement in the organising of this event I am just a happy parent with a very happy child!

Seconded! My son had an excellent time - and is still practising now! I also have no involvement in the organization and have actually only met Rob the once. Could I suggest that if there is another week it is sooner rather than later.

Sessions start at 9am and close at 3pm. Please contact Rob on 0533 887 3822 to confirm times for the bus, but collection would prob be 8ish in the morning. If you have children at home getting bored but are soccer lovers then this is a great value course.. only 100TL for 5 days. Children learn soccer skills, take part in quizzes, fun games and all receive medals and certificates.

Is it outdoors? 9am until 3pm is a long time in this heat.

It is outside, but there is an area that is in shade that Rob uses for quizzes and games. They got lots of breaks as well for drinking water in the shade throughout the day. Yes it is a long time in the heat but I have to say that when going to the waterparks/beaches I can't keep my son in the shade for long either! I just make sure he has lots of sun protection on and lots of fluids.
