| Normally, yes. If the flights are around 1.5 to 2 hours or more apart - eta to etd in Istanbul - then its no problem and the airport is good to wander round in. If the eta/etd is less than an hour it can be a bit rushed but we have done it in less than 10 minutes when UK to Istanbul flights have left late. The fun part is on the way back and you need 1.5 to 2 hours eta/etd to make it through the ticket counter. |

| "The fun part is on the way back and you need 1.5 to 2 hours eta/etd to make it through the ticket counter. " What ticket counter? Boarding card for Istanbul to UK is issued at Ercan. Enter the terminal from your Ercan flight (usually by bus), walk to transit (10 minutes), get a sticker put on the back of your passport at the mobile desks that open for UK transit flights, up the escalator, walk to your departure gate (10 minutes). Additionally, they tend to hold Istanbul to Ercan flights if there are enough people late from a UK flight. The same isn't true coming back though, and UK flights tend to depart on-time from Istanbul. Of course the worry on a tight connection is not necessarily that you won't make it, but rather that your cases won't. |
