Car MOT, any garages that will do this for you?

My car MOT runs out in the near future. Has anyone asked a garage to do this for them and if so, how much do they charge? I am in the Alsancak area.

as far as i am aware garages are not allowed to do the mot test but they might take the car to the police station and get it done for you, but that will be at a cost.Why not just take it yourself, it's relatively painless

erdeners garage always do my mot for me and for my friends

at worst its 30 tl well worth thepayment in my opinion especially with previous hassle i have had.

always gets through no hassle at all

so are you saying that you dont have to get the mot done at the police station, i ask this as for the last 4 years thats the place we have been told to take our car,

numpty,

MOT test is done by the examiner at the police garage.

There are places such as Erdener garage who will do a pre-MOT check, rectify any faults, and clean the engine compartment (VERY important ) and then take it along to the Police garage for you, and make sure that it passes.

I think what cyprusairsoft means, is that he drops it off there,

they will then take it to the police station for MOT test.

Make sure car is clean & has mudflaps on.

Should pass OK

Erdeners did my MOT on Friday, as already stated they do a pre-mot and take the car to Girne, lot less hassle

They do al lmy servicing and repairs. I have no complaits. Rocker

I have my car serviced at TASAS, they do everything for me Road tax/MOT/insurance/emission test etc. They only charge me for my service plus the actual costs of the road tax/ins etc.

Just been to MOT our car today. Went to the new tax department behind Girne hospital and paid 100TL. We were given a receipt to say we paid and went to the police MOT station in Girne - the turning on the left before the market opposite Mr Pound there is a sign with the police emblem pointing to the right, follow the road round and there it is. The paperwork for the MOT too longer than the actual MOT itself! This was our 1st time and it was ridiculously easy so recommend giving it a go yourself as it's an experience to watch the MOT "test" being done - a quick check of the engine and chassis number, a check of the tyres and that was it! Good luck

unless the guy is feeling unhelpful when he spots you have no first aid or if you have its the wrong sort and fire extinguisher size etc etc

just let the garage do it for you so much easier



last time i did my own had to replace a headlight unit cos it had tiny crack cost over 400 quid

(from the south the part came) so now garage does mine no probs at all
