Extend Broadband - what download speed are you getting?

Having discovered, and complained to Extend Broadband, that NCFP are consistently getting only 256kb instead of 1024kb I was wondering what other people were getting and to see if this is just a localised problem for the Alsancak area. I'll be taking regular readings to see what happens over a period of time. The first result can be seen below:

Extend tried to argue that the download speed was normal for 1Mb and would go up and down throughout the day. http://www.speedtest.net logs every test so you can see your download speeds over time and so far it LOOKS as if I've been allocated a 256k account. I wonder why that might be?

catalkoykid, now that was not very nice! Only 40x faster than I'm getting. I wonder when TeleWest will open up in north Cyprus?

well at least Extend have now responded to my 2 week problem and apparently an engineer will soon arrive to check out the problem. I'll do the next speedtest after they've gone.

apparently it was the thread in Cyprus44 that did it and NCFP was just an afterthought. It's something to be proud of that Izzet has allowed the thread to continue.

NCFP is back to 1Mb, thanks to swift service from Extend's new helpdesk staff member. One very satisfied customer now!

nikegirl, your test looks like you had some activity while the test was done. Your upload is about 70kb and that would cause more problem that the fairly low 570kb download, especially with Skype. Try to close everything down before the test and then do a retest.
