Hi bamf892 That is a very long journey which I'd say will take around 3.5 hours to drive so I wouldn't advise a taxi. A hire car would be the best option but it depends on where your return flight will be from. If Larnaca/Paphos then hire would be ok, just make sure the insurance covers you for the North. Otherwise if your return flight is from the North then you have to consider getting the car back over the border. As its a wedding is there anyone going who could give you a lift say to Paphos or Larnaca then see if a hire company from the North will collect you. Some of them do offer pick up. Karen

Thanks for your reply Karen. Would you know of any such companies that would pick us up from Paphos? I had been told that it is problematic to get your southern hire car over the border - is that not the case? Jo

Jo I know Bird will pick up from Southern Airports (www.birdrentacar.com ) and I'm sure there must be others as well. From what others have reported a couple of problems with bringing a car over the border are insurance and breakdown. If you breakdown then its your responsibility to get the car back over the border which could work out expensive. I don't think the insurance cover you take out in the South is valid in the North I understand you have to take out additional cover for travel in the North. Good luck Karen
