How long should it take me to travel from Girne to Famagusta? Can anyone give me advice or tips to make my trip more pleasant/ get the most out of it? Any warnings? At what time should I plan on reaching the city if I am only going for the day? Thanks to anyone who can help! : )

I go to Magusa docks quite often.I allow about an hour and a half. Boring journey, watch the locals for slowing down speed cameras. They have posts up at all roundabouts, some aren't connected. Just follow dual carriage way around Lefkosa Huge roundabout take Girne exit,3rd one.Big roundabout again in 15minutes. Follow signs for Girne. Alternately on route after Ercan turn off, follow dual carriageway, past big supermarket on right, Green and Orange, take Girne exit at next roundabout, take mountain road, much more interesting, lovely views, then take road through Catalkoy to Girne Enjoy

I think Mike has got his directions the wrong way round but if you go from Girne to Catalkoy and then over the mountain road. Turn left at the roundabout and carry on the motorway past the turn off for Ercan. Carry on until you come to the roundabout and turn right, this will bring you down to the old walled city. I always go early in the morning as parking within the walls is limited. The butlers wife
