| Just a thought, in UK they use solar panels to generate electricity, but here I have only seen water heating panels. Why don't we use electrical solar panels over here? |

| In EU, the electricity authority has to buy what excess you produce, or supply electricity to the grid during daytime and use it from the grid at night time. It is not economical to use batteries to store electricity. We will have the same laws soon (I hope) but until then it is not economical. We have them at some places where it is not economical to connect it to the grid. ismet |

| Thanks Elko2, there's my answer, perhaps the government should have thought about it before, it would have prevented a lot of power cuts if everybody with solar panels were assisting the grid! |
