i have stupidly spilt a drink on my laptop, can anyone recommend someone to advise.

Hi Norman,

1st bit of advice,

switch it off & lay it upside down, to dry off.

Leave it a few hours, till you think it's dry.

Then try to start it up.

If that doesn't work,

could be a repair job :-(

If it was just water then you may get away with it - anything else that has a sugar base will end up a sticky mess. Did you power it down yourself or did it do that itself - again, if you did it then you stand a chance but if it powered down itself it may be too late for some of the components.



The only good thing about a desktop/tower is that it is difficult to spill liquids into it - course its bloody heavy to lug around with you as well!!!

If it's not been powered on like navek says unplug it take the battery off it if it's got sugar on clean it with a little soap and water on a semi dry cloth & leave it for a few hours to dry before trying, make sure it's 100% dry this is the most important bit....
