Paid last month 36 Units 57.32 Lira

This month 63 Units 240.13 Lira

Used less than double the amount of water than last month but price nearly 5X

Does anyone know if this is right?

could be a stepped rate similar to electricity. Alsancak is about 1TL/ton up to 20 tons so it looks as if 20-30 could be 2TL and 30-40 at 3TL etc this would fit the 36 unit pattern

Çatalköy Municipality Tariff is charged on a tiered rate, upto 45 ton = 76.25 tl. Thereafter 8tl per ton.

You are obviously not using it for domestic use only!!!!

Hi We are at Bufavento. Got a bill last month for 288 TL supposedly used 70tons of water. We have no pool and villa was empty for two weeks. When I checked the meter it was whizzing round but there was no water being used. Turned water off at the meter and back on again and it stopped. When we went to query it they came out and checked meter we had only used 7 tons in two weeks so obviously we had not got a leak. We are still trying to sort it out but fear we will end up paying.

My bill dated 26 July was 34.60 tl, this was for 23 units including all the basics for rubbish, street lighting and mossie spraying.

I have checked a previous bill and all the prices for rubbish, street lighting and mossie spraying are the same as this one but i only used 15 units and the total bill came to 27.27 ....so you can work it out!!

Water bill always seems high in Catalkoy. Air seems to be a problem but yes you have to pay for it!

Been at Bufavento for 5 years now and have not had a bill anywhere near that one before. The next door nieghbours had one for £700 the first year we where here and that made them sell up. I think you are right in saying air is the problem. Will see how we go on. At the moment our management company is trying for us so will let you know how we get on.

Mrs Snakes - yes Zeytinlik does come under Girne but I can't tell you what the rates are, sorry. Maybe someone in Girne or Zeytinlik can tell you.
