| I have some concrete stairs leading to a roof terrace.The problem is that these stairs run up an external wall and the interior of this wall is suffering from damp. The stairs are tiled but not well Any advice gratefully received I have seen an advert for cyprus solutions for dealing with damp has anyone used them/did it work/how much did it cost Thanks BB |

| if it is like mine re-grout tiles . then applly clear silicone solution [paint] to tiles |

| Assume you have skirting to the side of your house which sits on the tiles. You will need to take the skirting and tiles off. Once dry, you will need to "tank" (cement based waterproofing solution) the staircase and sides where the skirting sat. Refix the tiles and skirting and then apply a further waterproof sealant (Johnsons Stoneoseal). This should do the trick. |

| Thanks for responses I think the removal of tiles and tanking as outlined in msg 6 is probably the way forward.Can anyone recommend a competent tradesman who can do this type of work BB |

| Bravestone in Karsiyaka can do this for you. They have re-tiled my top terrace which is now waterproof. Also Stoneoseal is available in HomeBase just over the Metehan Border and it really is a great product. |
