Im sorry to say that no one on this forum turned up for the cleaning on Sunday! I am dissapointed.

And thank you to Esentepe Belediye staff who volunteered their Sunday in order to clean up Alagadi beach!

This is only the begining of the up hill struggle. We will take mesasures to clean all North Cyprus Beaches and we shall keep them that way!

Thank you all.

Yen, Sorry to contradict you, but my grandson and I arrived at 7.30am and collected 8 Lemar bag fulls of rubbish that we left in a convenient place on the beach for the beach clean up crew who then arrived at 8.30 am, how Do I know this? We were in the sea when you all arrived!

Keep up the good work, It is appreciated by some!

Yen

After my sometimes heated 'debate' with Oldshep, I trust that he/she turned up standing tall and proud

Hopefully there will be a better turnout next time.

Best wishes

Yen,

Please let me know if another is planned between 12th and 28th of August, when I'll be there on holiday.

Very well done to you, for taking so much of your time to get this started.

Cheers, Eddie

Been collecting for the last couple of weeks as have a few locals also. But come Monday all the shit is there again and the vast majority of locals don't give a shite.

Meant to take some choice digital evidence photo's and promote and vent to the world .....

But went to Tatlitsu and Kaplinka instead.

Re no 6

I agree - we went down to Alagadi yesterday and all credit to you guys it was very clean. BUT - obviously Sunday was very hot and attracted large crowds who then dump their plastic cups, papers, bottles (even a nappy on the shore line !!) - what is the matter with these people ?????

Anyway, we filled 3 lemar bags with other peoples (new) rubbish so hope it helped.....

Well just for the record me and the boss and Old shep turned up at Aligadi beach at 7.00 a.m and we filled up a whole roll of black bags .............and left just as the students from the Turtle beach project turned up a couple of hours later.

They too thought no one had been there as the Belediye had just loaded up and taken away all our rubbish.

We even shamed some locals who came to picnic on the beach and actually filled a couple of black bags as well..

We had a well earned swim to cool down and were pleased to have done our bit.

Perry very well done but perhaps if you give the bags to those you see eating on the beach knowing the have rubbish and knowing, you bet..that they will leave it behind..Please everyone take extra bags and hand them out in the 100s tell them WHY..and they might start bring their own..Oh and do as I do and ask them to take it HOME..No I am not kidding it works..

Went to beach today to cool down................and loads of rubbish......

Had left pick up stick in car so tidied the car park a bit.................put bottles in bins..............

Went on beach and tried to find a spot without rubbish..........

People put some rubbish in bags but leave the bags on beach......................

Some locals came ...set up umbrella.......and threw rubbish bag on the spot they were on across beach..............

Not clearing it up.JUST MOVING IT..

TELL ME AGAIN WHY I BOTHER.....................

I would like to say thank you to all of you that are taking the time to clear up the beach's it is soul destroying to see these beautiful places littered. I am hoping to be out there soon so will start to help as well.

They need one of those beach tractors you see in other holiday countries to clear the beach's daily. Perhaps a fund raiser is in order.

All the best to you all

Its great that you got the Belediye people helping but surely you didn't just have them cleaning up you did ask them some relevent questions
