We have just taken out travel insurance with Infinity Insurance. Tom from flight holiday recommended the company as they DO include cover for North Cyprus. We are covered from leaving NC to UK to USA and back.

Sheila, I hope the insurance was booked though our flightholiday web site as we are the ones who got them to do it and it would be good that they know that we are helping them as well as their paying us at IAH our dues. If not please do let me know (by email to info@flightholiday.co.uk ) so I can refer back to them. The insurance I am talking about is for expats travelling from North Cyprus.

www.insurenandgo.com cover North Cyprus because we made a claim and they paid out because it is in Europe, they also insure for up to 90 days. £80pa for a family.

Hi Chris .. Does your original post refer only to people visiting for a holiday .. Both myself & Rita are in possession of the EHIC but fortunately we live here 24/7 .. Would it work for us .. Or would it be asking too much ..

I'm afraid you would be asking to much, you would only be able to use it over in the south.

flightholiday, I think I see what you mean. Insurance for North Cyprus residents whose flights would originate from there. I'm in the situation where I work in the UK for just over 6 months so that I keep my UK residency along with its benefits. I'll be permanently retiring and residing in North Cyprus in a few years and would therefore have to take an insurance applicable for residents here. I looked at InfinityInsurance.co.uk but it doesn't make it clear whether you have to reside in the UK for 6 months or more. Am I looking at the wrong website?

No, infinityinsurance.co.uk requires that the insured resides in the UK for at least 6 months just like insureandgo does. In the case of my insurer it is irrelevant where flights are from, e.g. Ercan, they only care that they are in Europe and that I do not stay longer than 90 days.

Hi nurseawful, Have contacted all my friends who might be travelling in Europe, with the link you posted. Some of them weren't aware of the European Health Insurance Card, EHIC. But they all know now Thanks' for the info. Navek

Msg 7 ----Harita, the EHIC card only covers for the purpose of holidays in the European Economic Area (North Cyprus-not included) You can go to the south and use it, the only thing is you would be best to pretend you are a tourist on holiday NOT a resident.

Malcolm - either look at our flightholiday site and you will find a form their or email me with a number to call and I can explain. If you go to infinity you will NOT get this product! (If you do want to buy from infinity contact us info@flightholiday.co.uk as our price is the same as theirs and we have contacts there.)

Thanks flightholiday, I've found it on your site. It was just to get an idea of insurance costs for a few years time.
