Yes,

This time of year you can attend the excavation of a nest and release of baby turtles into the sea.

It happens at about 6 pm onwards at Alagadi. Go to the 'Goatshed' and they will guide you to the part of the beach in question as it varies.

Hi japeal,

This time last year they were posting the hatching times at Aligadi,

not seen anything about the hatchings at Aligadi so far this year.

People have asked me when the hatchings are ,

told them to keep an eye cyprus44, but nothing :-(

Good luck,

Navek

There is a hatching most, but not every, day. Their phone number is : 0533 8798533, and they have set up a system where it is manned every day. They usually know about 9.30 am if there is an excavation on that day. In previous years they tended not to do them on a Sunday because of the crowds on the beach, but they've tweaked their system this year, so that may no longer be the case.

Take the grandchildren. They'll remember the experience for the rest of their lives.

There's no excavation tonight, but there is a possibility of one tomorrow.

Generally the system has changed. In previous years any hatchlings were released immediately. This would be when the beach was open to the public, so got a bit crowded. This year the system has changed slightly. Any hatchings that are will be taken back to the Goatshed and will be released at 9 that night. As the beach closes to the public at 8pm, you will need to book a space, which will be limited to 30 visitors.

Excavation tonight, 9th August. Be at the Goatshed at 6pm, or wait at the beach bar till you see the volunteers on the beach.
