hornets are nesting behind my facia boards through the knot holes and are now enlarging the hole



can anyone give me a price and deal withplease



wife has been stung twice already ouch !!!

I had a hornets nest on my balcony, i just poured pure alcohol onto it, ran away and te next day, checked it was dead and pulled it off.

small wasp had laid grubs inside the screw holes of my cordless drill !!!!



thankfully noticed and evicted the wiggly grubs yuk

Vape spray (orange and white can with long tube on the nozzle) will kill them.... put the tube deep inside the hole and spray long and hard. Make sure you are well covered up though.

we waited until dusk when there seemed to be no activity then sprayed into the hole. no more problems.

I have just discoverd a nest under my roof tiles, i used my swimmimg pool pole, sprayed vipe up at them, they did go a bit crazy, but the left for a moment, so i knocked the nest down, just keep spraying every now and again, they are now moving on....

Hornets will only attack if you go too near to their nest. They nest in tree roots and behind walls, as in 'Cyprusairsoft's' case.



My [permanent!] cure was: Take a 10' length of PVC pipe [electrical conduit] > bung up one end for about 2" with ant killer powder > at dusk, point your 'blowpipe' close to and directly at the hole and give a mighty PUFF!



AS long as some powder goes in the hole, all the hornets should die pretty soon - within half a day - because the hornets have to come out of the hole and inevitably touch the dust - they might go back in, too, and this is goodo, because they carry the poison right down to the nest and 'terminally stuff' all their cobbers!

Spray up the pool pole its a good safe distance..when they are flying around knock the est of with the pole.

If you've seen the huge black 'bull ants' in Cyprus, be assured that ant powder kills them - in fact faster than those pesky little red 'fire ants' - so hornets and wasps succumb quicker than ants do!



Hornets and wasps keep 'guards' out, so make sure it's dark when you 'do the deed'!



I wonder why ant powder is so difficult to find - one would think every supermarket would sell it?



The old stuff used to be cyanide based - you could make your own with a few drops of cyanide and talcum powder [French Chalk] - also we used to buy ant powder from the British Bases shop at Episkopi, before the public access restriction was imposed. We used the British vet, too.



Maybe this agricultural chemical shop near the Girne Hospital sells the right stuff - maybe 'Green Garden' nearly opposite 'Ship Inn'?



Sorry I can't be more help re buying the stuff - I always buy my ag.chemicals in the South.

jock cant get to the nest because its behind the facia just got the entrance hole which is through a pushed out knot in the wood so something has to be sprayed in
