Anyone recommend a good quiz night? Went to Jessic's last night and it was, well.... terrible. Very badly organised and the fun was spoilt by the quiz master's lack of 'rapport' with the punters (and his hearing).



Quiz started at 8.00pm and was still stuggling on after 11.00pm; by which time my will to participate had left the building (Sadly I couldn't do the same as my car was blocked in). Not sure if this was to get the customers to stay longer and drink more or the quiz master's inability to give the right answers* (for those of you who were there he was irritated by the contestents asking him to clarify his interpretation of "mirrored" and "normal". He just didn't get it....)



*the Paul McCartney album is "Give My Regards To Broad Street" (as in Broad Street BR Station London), NOT Broadway as in New York.

try Freddies bar on a sat night. quiz should be good and def does not go on as long as that. x I think there is a thread advertising it.

Good quiz at The Lodge at Catalkoy on a Wednesday night. Starts at 8.30pm, 5tl per person to enter. Half proceeds go to winning team and half to the North Cyprus Cancer Charity Trust. I am the quizmistress! How I love the title!

112 quiz at The Ravine, last monday in every month, there is even a prize for the people who come last 3 times!! All in aid of a good cause as well 15th gives you a good meal and a night of entertainment.

I was there as well, the reason for the late start was nothing to do with the quizmaster.

His rapport with the punters is usually pretty good, unless they're trolls (are you?)

As to the "right answers" if you don't know the difference betwen mirrored and normal you've got a problem.

There were 18 teams there, most had a good time and if you're interested that particular quizmaster regularly gets the most teams.

On other nights they don't usally finish until after 23:30, yesterday was lightning fast once it got going.



By the way

His hearings fine.



Lastly; you paid a massive 3tl, and you're moaning

There is a quiz at the Waterfront (Celebrity) tonight at 7.30 so I have been informed by Jonno. He usually does a very good quiz and there is a cash prize so I believe. Certainly won't go on longer than 10pm possibly as early at 9.30!

As Jonno does not have access to this site he has asked me to add to my previous post - tables of up to 4, 5ytl each player, 2ytl of which will go into the jackpot prize which is starting at 50ytl - there will be such things as crisps tonight and, depending on attendance, possibly food in the following weeks. Starting tonight at the Waterfront (Celebrity) at 7.30 pm. Come along and enjoy, who knows (yawn) there maybe some football on the screens at the end of it!!

The China Garden in Ozankoy, does a good quiz on the last Wednesday of every month - This month Wed 25th.



Starts at 8 pm.



14TL = Quiz entrance and Chicken, chips and salad supper

Look at the events on a Monday, Jessics is a really good night, always busy and only 3tl to play which includes food ! And half way thru is a game of bingo for 5tl each - all the money goes in, some nights the top prize can be up tp 250tl. Right next to the sea as well so the veiws are lovely. Jessics is in Lapta between Celebrity hotel & Manolya Hotel. Really isn't a night to be missed! Check it out on events - every Monday at 7.30pm.

Gatsby as was announced at the end of the quiz at Jessics "if anyone feels they can produce a quiz, feel free to add your name to the list".

It's not easy believe me as I have done it. Some of the participants are hard work to say the least!

PS If you want to give Jessics another try they have a much simpler quiz on Friday nights which usually finishes about 9.30. Plenty of time for your beauty sleep!

Some people who were there are embroiled in the Akfinans bank property scam, they never miss a quiz and enjoy the occasion for what it is supposed to be.

I'm sure Jessic will manage without your 3TL in the future, they certainly got on well enough before.

The Islands quality quiz is at Hoots Thursday night starts 8'clock excellent repast and very good company.



i assure you our Quiz master has a good report.

Good quiz last night at the Waterfront - no one won the 50 lira roll over so will be more for next week. Well done Jonno - and no quibbling either!!
