Altinkiya (sp) Next to Ice nightclub, Alsancsak. Had a beautiful meal there for my birthday in July. Lots and lots and LOTS of meze, so starve yourself all day beforehand, lol!

The one in the harbour opposite Niazi's and next to the Dome (name escapes me!) is excellent.

In the same road as the colony hotel in girne. It on the opposite side of the road about half way up, next door to a petrol station. Heading up towards the lefkosa roundabout its on the left.

It looks like a bit of a greasy spoon type cafe, but it isn't. They have a nice garden at the back where you can eat outside in the shade.

The best fish restaurant in girne, tc owned, he also sells fish as well.

The fish mezzes are wonderfull, give them a try. Speak slowly as they don't speak much english but the food is great.

Shame about the lack of shellfish in the Eastern Med. There's something not right about eating imported frozen fish on an island.

Sirin Yali overlooking the sea at Karsiyaka. Great meze including octopus, cuttle fish, prawn casserole plus lovely fresh fish for main course (bream, bass, grouper, etc).

Try the Zone on the hill on the way up to Bellapais.

The top floor is an excellent sea food restaurant. A bit pricy but well worth the extra. You can either buy the fish by weight or they do an all in meze with sea bass or bream for 41 TL.

Best one by far is SET FISH in the middle of the old harbour. All freshly caught daily - no freezer. They will bring the basket of the fish to your table and you choose what you want. The Red Bream is unbelievable - all priced by weight. Fantastic setting as well - raised up overlooking harbour.

Set restaurant is good but we find that the Capitano's in Alsancak is excellent.

we are running local SINYA restaurant also having fish menu @ Kucukerenkoy village. Our special fish menu is "Tuzda Levrek". We cover sea bass fish totally with salt and then bake in oven. We think it is the most delicious sea bass menu on the island. Hope you have time to come and taste it, but please note that booking is essential for this menu at least one day before.

The Lemon Tree just outside of Catalkoy village - almost opposite Supreme Supermarket - one of the best fish places for both meze and main courses.

went to this little fish restaurant near Colony after searching for ages. Waste of time. Very small portions. Octopus and Kalamari so overcooked. Awful and not cheap
