You can get them in Immap on main Lapta/Girne road. Not sure if they still have, but they had a large boat on their forecourt so you can't miss it. Otherwise it is quite near to Ronnies furniture store. Boerboel

I saw some in the Yapi market in Alsancak yesterday. It is the large one on the left hand side of the road past the "golden lady" coming towards Lapta next to the market gardens - you've guessed it I can't remember the name!

if you do manage to get one you may find that the rat is trap shy and will not go near it. If this is the case try putting a small amount of food in the place where you will set the trap then introduce the trap after a couple of times. Poison would be an option if you get a poison holder that only lets the rat in, you could make one out of wood if required but it would need to be fixed to prevent spillage.

Hi Kevin thats good, now you have to think what to put on them. We tried lots of different things, the most effective for us in the UK when we had mice was peanut butter they loved it, very effective but didn't work with the rat we had here. One time it even sat and watched us set the trap so was obviously a lot cleverer than us We never caught it but it left after about a week and not seen it since. Have been told since that most of the rats here are fruit rats so maybe that could be a food choice, we did have a lot of tomatoes get eaten but assumed it was birds, maybe not. Also, when setting the trap, watch your fingers as they have a hair trigger. Boerboel
