Does anyone know what the exchange rates are for the Euro against the local YTL today and if there is a local website?

I just went onto one site and it showed 1:1, which I can't believe is right, because last time I was over it was, more or less, divide by 2 to get the Euro price

That's where I saw it. Is there a good place to exchange over there or all pretty much the same? I am arriving on Sunday lunchtime. Are they open on Sundays?

€1 = YTL1.97



This is the 'official' exchange rate. The 'tourist' rate is about €1 = YTL1.82.



As a general rule you should always but foreign currency at home or via an ATM. The exception of course is the YTL. Rates in the currency exchanges around Girne are always better than the banks.
