Sitting here yet again thinking will I ever get a flight in to or out of North Cyprus that goes smoothly! i was caught up in the CTA debacle earlier this year and looks like my flights for 31st August could be under serious threat as well!!!Oh not a happy bunny!! (c) Sky News 2010, 21:59, Thursday 12 August 2010 Thousands of holidaymakers face travel chaos after workers at BAA airports - including Heathrow - voted overwhelmingly to strike in a row over pay. A ballot involving 6,185 staff resulted in a three to one vote in favour of strike action, the Unite union said. No walkout dates have yet been announced but Unite will meet on Monday to decide what form of industrial action its members will take. Action will not only affect Heathrow but also Stansted, Southampton, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh airports. The earliest a strike could be called is Monday, August 23 - just ahead of the bank holiday weekend.

I have not mentioned this on the flights 2010 and 2011 thread yet because it is still only a threat and so might not come about. The Unison rep was getting a lot of stick on UK TV this morning and no sympathy. There is enough trouble already with four travel companies down since the start of July and a Spanish strike imminent; I would have thought that no one wants more woe!

Flightholiday, just to confirm it's the Unite union, not Unison.
