Do not forget that if you go south and get stopped there is a 40% duty to pay or even worse confiscation if you had not declared and it is the day for electrical goods!!

Washing machine, dish washer and fridge freezer.are the large items but all the small electricals look quite expensive locally. Can anyone recommend where to buy furniture and if there are any discount to be had.

There is no such thing as a border!!!!!!! The allowance at all points of entry to TRNC is still 135 euros per person per item. But the are numerous tales of exception taken by TRNC customs on electrical goods. We bought all our stuff from UK in container when we moved. But most things can be bought here if you shop around in the numerous stores in Girne and surrounds and in Lefkosa. In fact we have found some of best prices are in small shops out in our direction. Do not accept the price label as being purchase price, we have found that as soon as you show interest 10% is knocked off, then it is your turn!!!!!
