Just read the report on another forum about One Andy Murray winning the canadian masters seemingly beat Nadal in straight sets in the semi and Federer in straight sets in the final, he has in the past beat both of these players but to my knowlege never one after the other and so convincing, maybe he is coming of age. It would be nice if he could go on and win the first major by a Brit for over 70 years. IAWFTN

I remember an interview with Andy Murray when he first hit the big time of "great tennis players" saying how strange it was that before he was "famous" he was Scottish and all of a sudden when things start to look good he became "British" a little dig that there are no good "English" tennis players (very true) so we have adopted a Scotsman ! Good luck for the future Mr Murray !

Andy seems to perform better on hard courts, hence these 2 great wins over the other 2 greats.

Gates is that swahelie Andy did smile a lot last night HONESTLY !!!! but its a fact that he is the best thing that British tennis has produced for a very long time, and do you think he gives a damm what others think of him, better a winner than a loser who looks good or speaks good eh Gates

Remember what he said about ' I don't care who wins the World Cup as long as it's not England' Well I don't care who wins tennis tournaments as long as it's not Andy Murray. Getting ready for the incoming flack.

In direct response the title of this thread ...............NO! I will only believe he is winning grand slams when he actually wins one, he has so many opportunities and fallen at the last hurdle. He has beaten all the top players numerous times but always falls short at the really big tournaments. He always comes across as a miserable bu***r, and his language is appalling so I am glad he is Scottish, his words not mine.

Andy Murray is a marvelous tennis player but unfortunately to win a major tournament he has got to beat 2 of the all time greats in Federer and Nadal.....who knows hopefully he will soon All Brits who follow tennis should support Murray in his quest to win a major tournament I know he is not Mr Nice Guy (not like Tim!!!) but neither was John Macenroe

if all the scots supported England in the world cup I am sure we would all support Andy Murray..hes a brilliant tennis player and full marks to him for beating Nadal and Federer....he is of course British but he shows his ignorance by not supporting English teams and appears to support Englands opponents...(like many scots no doubt). I guess also many English are anti Scottish teams..just shows the general level of intelligence. In thousands of years many humans have not advanced from their tribal instincts.

Through history the Scots and English have been enemies and I guess always will be, but the ABE group are ignorant and probably stereotypical of most scots, ie, drunks.
