I'm confused (quite easy for me) do want advice in finding a solution in how to train your dog to leave the chickens alone, or do you want to rehome it? DD

we have used a can of compressed air. Each time the dog something wrong the sound of the release of the air stops it in its tracks. Not sure if you can buy in NC. PS don't point the air at the dog (and no comments from anyone on where else to put it!) Now just picking up the can stops any unwanted behaviour.

My dog used to go for the chickens as well (german pointer) but then the cockeral took a dislike to the dog - now all is peace and happiness - so long as Rocky the cockeral is about! Have you just got chickens on their own? Maybe the dog needs to learn a sharp and short lesson!

If you seriously want to keep her, then it's time for some serious training....you can google all sorts of techniques, especially from Cesar Milan, the dog whisperer...a personal hero of mine. I know for sure, if i was to have chickens, they would definitely not last long...but i can't bear the blighters, unless they are served cooked on my plate, so i don't have that issue..... Maybe even investing in some cheap chain link fencing to separate them might be an idea...until you have some training done? But if you've simply had enough, then you need to get some pictures or videos up so that folk can see her, and find her a new home. DD
